IROs Forum – good practices, cooperation with NAWA and problems of higher education

On the 9th -10th of March 2020, the universities associated in the IROs Forum network will meet, once again, to discuss current issues related to the internationalization of higher education, share good practices and strengthen the cooperation with representatives of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA).

The meeting is hosted by the University of Bielsko-Biała, and the main organizer – Hanna Lamers, Head of the Center of International Exchange.

The meeting is also a unique opportunity to honour Katarzyna Aleksy, Head of the Department of Programmes for Institutions, with the Barbara Centkowska Award of the IROs Forum, for her special contribution to the internationalization of Polish universities, an example of good practice and excellent cooperation with IROs Forum universities. Congratulations to the winner!  We wish further success in the internationalization of Polish higher education! Moreover, NAWA Director, Łukasz Wojdyga who cooperates with IROs FORUM and develops international activities, since the establishment of the NAWA agency, will participate in the meeting.

During the meeting, very important current issues related to the Act on Foreigners, Erasmus Charter and Erasmus Without Paper will be discussed as part of the new perspective of the Erasmus + 2021-2027 program, as well as the rules for the granting and implementation of scholarships for scientific and educational mobility. One of the topics will undoubtedly be a crisis related to the coronavirus epidemic.

NAWA will provide training to participants in the submission of applications and implementation of projects offered by the Agency and plan further cooperation opportunities together with IROs.
